The WCUSD has 7 teachers who are currently serving the district
as literacy and math coaches, 4 elementary coaches, and 3 secondary
coaches.
Coaches are utilized in the following ways as they:
- Teach lessons in the classroom
- Present professional development
- Help guide teachers and students to work on standards
- Provide resources for best practices in instruction
- Ensure that teachers have appropriate and adequate materials
to help reach all learners at all levels
- Meet with teachers to reflect on current practices using the
co-inquiry model
- Encourage change when appropriate
- Look at student work and help analyze data to plan for further
instruction
- Assist in planning and pacing instruction
- Offer assistance as needed or requested for parent and teacher
training
While teacher participation is voluntary, these coaches are ready
