PTA

Cameron Elementary School

Greetings from the PTA President!

Thank you for your active participation. We have had a great start in September! Membership continues to grow, room parent representatives have been established, and volunteers have begun their work.

Our fall fundraiser just finished on September 26th, and we anticipate it to generate generous amounts, that will, in turn, benefit our school and your child's life at Cameron. We will announce our profits at the next PTA meeting. Thank you to our PTA 2nd VP, Mrs. Calvanico, for her organizing.

The Red Cross Blood Drive on September 24th elicited 41 pints donated! Most donations in upper grades came from Mr. Lechner's class (Grade 5) and in lower grades, it was Ms. Abrahams' (K). We thank PTA 1st VP, Ms. Dolan, for again making this drive possible.

On the September 11th PTA meeting, we introduced the Cameron PTA Board and elected a new PTA Auditor, Ms. Gilbert. The Parent Resource Center officially opened on Back-to-School Night. District leaders, teachers, and Cameron families visited the PRC. Workshops will be presented by Ms. Wilds, one of our teaching staff, and Mrs. Mannion, PTA Secretary.

We look forward to your continued involvement. We still need more volunteers; we need ALL of you to make Cameron a collaborative learning community!

Feel free to approach me with any ideas, questions or concerns.

Maria Castaneda/PTA President

LOST and FOUND

Parents and students: Do not forget to stop by the Lost and Found at the north side of the office. We have lots of jackets, sweaters, lunch pails, folders and even eye glasses. Anything that is not claimed will be donated to charity, so please feel free to check any time.

Uniform Recycling and Donations

Anytime your child outgrows his or her school uniform, and it is still in wearable condition, please feel free to donate it to the office. We often have the need for extra clothing, especially on cold, rainy days. We will accept any size, clean uniform and pass them along to others in need. Also, feel free to call the office if your child needs a uniform and we will be happy to assist you. Let's all recycle and help one another out.
