"Pulling Together
For
School Success"
2007-2008
June 2008
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that it is June and we are coming to the close of another school year. State testing is over and the students did their very best. I am proud of each and every one of them and the effort they put forth. We look forward to wonderful results in August. The state has adjusted the API score for all schools due to a newly implemented assessment for Special Education students called the California Modified Assessment (CMA). The good news is that our API is now 804!!
Please continue to stress to your children the importance of coming to school every day and on time. Even though there are only fourteen days of school left, teachers continue to teach material needed to prepare students for the next grade.
Open House is coming up on June 5th. PTA will be serving dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. Classroom visitations will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Each classroom has a fabulous thematic gift basket to raffle off, so stop by the PTA table and fill out a winning ticket for your family.
The fifth grade will be participating in a variety of end of year activities. We are looking for parents that can help with their BBQ and games on June 17th. If you are available during the day for even a short time please give the school a call (626) 939-4800. Kelli Lumbreras will be organizing the day for the students, but she can not do it alone. We are looking forward to making this a year to remember for our fifth grade students!
Dismissal on the last day of school, June 19th, is at 10:55 a.m.
Thank you for the support that you give your individual children each day to help them be successful learners. I hope all our families have a safe and relaxing summer vacation. I look forward to next school year which starts on August 25, 2008.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Lesikar
